Open Position — Part-time Trauma Psychotherapist
Position Description
Under the supervision of the senior staff clinician, the trauma psychotherapist will provide clinical intakes, individual and group psychotherapy, assertive outreach, and clinical case management services, using evidence-based practices that are effective for the service population. The individual may also complete assessments, crisis intervention, hospital engagement, group counseling, intense case management, and emotional support to acute survivors in Emergency Department as well as provide transportation. Data entry, effective and efficient documentation, and networking with community partners. Promotes effective communication through teamwork. Attends all staff meetings. Contributes to organizational decision-making through active participation. Works effectively and positively with co-workers. Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Education:
Master’s degree in social work or counseling from an accredited university preferred
Must be registered with the Ohio Board of Counselor, Social Work, Marriage, and Family Therapist and in good standing
Work experience:
Experience working in mental health and with victims of complex trauma
Experience doing intense case management, outreach, and home visits
Must be able to move between different treatment approaches (clinical case management and trauma focused psychotherapy) depending on the needs of the client
Must demonstrate cultural humility and strengths-based, recovery philosophy
Must be able to engage with and provide emotional support to acute victims in the Emergency Department or in-patient care
Sensitivity in working with patients with complex psychosocial and substance abuse problems
Excellent documentation and clinical skills, ability to set priorities, work independently, excellent follow up, work well under pressure and deadlines
Excellent organizational and strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License with less than four points and vehicle insurance of $100,000/$300,000 coverage
