Trauma Recovery Services Cleveland

Trauma Recovery Services for Survivors of Violence

Have you been impacted by violence? Hope … help … and healing are here for you at the Brenda Glass Trauma Center.

We began offering trauma recovery services in 2003 through a faith-based initiative known as BG and Associates Ministries. Our goal was to provide healing to a group of young adults who had experienced multiple episodes of violence in the most crime-ridden areas of Cleveland.

In 2017, the Ohio Attorney General’s office recognized the growing need for trauma recovery programs to assist people of color who are less likely to seek help during the recovery process after violence.

The services we had designed were the ideal program to answer the call for help. With funding from the Attorney General’s office, we expanded our program and have since brought hope, help, and healing to hundreds of Cleveland residents.

Trauma can have a devastating impact on people at an emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial level. Our highly trained staff is dedicated to helping people heal from violence in all these areas.

We strive to meet each client where they are, physically and emotionally – providing support that addresses practical needs such as safe shelter, assistance with financial entitlements, basic needs, and legal advocacy, as well as individualized therapy, spiritual counseling, and group counseling.

Types of trauma we treat include domestic violence, sexual assaults, and other physical assaults, criminal motor vehicle accidents, gang-related violence, and people who have lost a loved one to homicide.
